Holiday Festivities
Updated: Nov 14, 2020
OK, you guys…in keeping with our holiday festivities, we’re barreling merrily forward. There aren’t enough words to describe how much we enjoyed seeing all of you posting pictures of your Wynonna Earp carved pumpkins – and not that we think that we were particularly original in our ideas, but we also happened to see a carving or two pop up from people who weren’t on our list. What we enjoyed equally as much were all the pictures of the trick or treat packages that people had gotten from their secret ghosts.
So, riding that high, we’ve also decided that some more holiday themed activities are in order, including, but not limited to teaming up with @EarperExchange for a holiday gift swap, what we like to call Wreath-Cycle and of course your annual EDE holiday video (but we’ll be dealing with that later).
Gift Exchange/Secret Santa
First, I want to talk about our newly formed collaboration with @EarperExchange. Since they decided to do a gift and card exchange and we were launching our first Secret Santa, we thought, “Why split the engagement? Let’s instead join forces!” So that’s what we did. We here at #EDE2021 will be pairing people up for the Secret Santa portion of the program and those there at Earper Exchange will be doing the pairings for the card exchange.
All that being said, if you would like to participate in the card exchange, reach out to @EarperExchange and give them a big old hearty, “YES!” (or whatever you think is reasonable)
If you’d like to participate in the gift exchange, reach out to us. We are going to be doing our level best to keep all exchangers on the same continent, but as with the trick or treating, if you are able to post things worldwide, let us know because there’s bound to be a few stragglers that we can’t get paired up properly. Also, we’re trying to keep the value around $20usd. Makes for a more level playing field.
Deadline for registration is November 30th!!
Wreath-cycling!
This is just a fun little activity for your conscientiously crafty folk out there….craftily conscientious? Crafty and conscientious? Whatever. And, whatever you’d call it, we want to see your best holiday wreaths made from those non-recyclables that would just end up in a landfill or the ocean. Whatever you’re thinking of tossing in the trash, don’t….put it to use. Straws, bottles, popsicle sticks (in this weather??), milk cartons, pizza boxes, plastic cutlery…whatever it is…surprise us, delight us…please…we need something to bring smiles to our faces. Are you a nature walker? Grab some nature while you’re out there…leaves, beach glass, sticks, weeds and toss that in there too.
Hey…what about making it the purpose for your nature stroll? Commit to taking a stroll around looking for stuff you can work into a holiday wreath. Give back to this beautiful planet AND create something…how ‘bout them apples? (And if you do decide to go that route, send us some pics and we’ll give you an appropriate shout out…I’ll do a blog post and we’ll splash you into the Twitter-verse. And, as always, be sure to post pictures of your grand creations and tag us in them…let the world see what you’ve come up with.
So, that’s about all I’ve got for you guys right now. I’ll be devoting some space here to their own little write ups, but, for now, you know what we know.
